Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Policy
1. Purpose
This policy sets out our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and explains what clients, families and potential live-in carers can expect from Live In Care Partners.
2. Policy
Live In Care Partners is committed to treating everyone fairly, with dignity, respect and without discrimination.
We respect and value diversity and recognise the nine protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010:
- Age
- Disability
- Gender reassignment
- Marriage and civil partnership
- Pregnancy and maternity
- Race
- Religion or belief
- Sex
- Sexual orientation
We will not discriminate against a client, family member or potential carer because of any protected characteristic.
3. Choice and Respect
We believe people should have a genuine choice about who they live with and who supports them.
As an introductory agency, we listen to the client's requirements and preferences when identifying potential live-in carers. This may include personality, experience, cultural understanding, language, gender or other personal preferences.
We will respect the choices of both clients and carers and aim to make introductions based on transparency, honesty, suitability and mutual respect.
4. Inclusion
We aim to create an inclusive service where people feel listened to, respected and able to express their individual needs and preferences.
We will not make assumptions about people because of their background, age, disability, culture, religion, gender or sexuality.
5. Discrimination
Live In Care Partners will not tolerate discrimination, harassment, bullying or victimisation.
Any concern relating to discrimination involving our service will be taken seriously and dealt with appropriately.
6. Our Commitment
We will:
- treat people fairly and respectfully
- value individual differences
- listen to clients and carers
- respect individual choices and preferences
- promote equality and inclusion
