Carer Terms & Conditions

1. About Live In Care Partners

Live In Care Partners is an introductory agency connecting clients and families with potential live-in carers.

We assess information provided by carers, carry out appropriate checks and make introductions based on the requirements provided by the client.

Live In Care Partners does not employ carers and does not direct, supervise or manage the delivery of care following an introduction.

2. Applying to Live In Care Partners

Carers must provide accurate and complete information about their identity, experience, qualifications, training, availability and suitability.

Carers must inform us if information relevant to their suitability changes.

Providing information to Live In Care Partners does not guarantee that a carer will be introduced to a client.

3. Checks and Vetting

Live In Care Partners may carry out appropriate checks before making an introduction. These may include:

  • Identity and right-to-work checks
  • DBS checks
  • References
  • Qualifications and training
  • Previous care experience
  • Other information relevant to suitability

A carer must provide any information or documentation reasonably required to complete the vetting process.

4. Introductions

Where we believe a potential match may be suitable, we may introduce the carer to a client or family.

The carer and client are both free to decide whether they wish to proceed.

An introduction does not guarantee a placement.

5. Information Shared

To facilitate an introduction, we may share relevant information about the carer with the client or family.

This may include information about experience, qualifications, skills, availability and other information relevant to the proposed arrangement.

Information will be handled in accordance with our Carer Privacy Policy and applicable data protection requirements.

6. The Client and Carer Relationship

Once an introduction has been made and the client and carer decide to proceed, the ongoing arrangement is between the client/family and the carer.

They are responsible for agreeing the arrangements between them, including:

  • The support to be provided
  • Daily routines
  • Working arrangements
  • Accommodation
  • Rest and time away
  • Payment
  • Travel and expenses
  • Notice arrangements
  • Ending the arrangement

Live In Care Partners does not direct or manage these arrangements.

7. Carer Responsibilities

Carers are expected to:

  • Treat clients and their families with dignity and respect
  • Respect the client's independence, choices and privacy
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries
  • Respect the client's home and belongings
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Work within their knowledge, skills and experience
  • Be honest about their qualifications and experience
  • Raise safeguarding concerns appropriately
  • Behave professionally and responsibly

8. Safeguarding and Concerns

Carers must take appropriate action where they believe a client may be at risk of abuse, neglect or harm.

Concerns about a carer's conduct, suitability or behaviour may be reviewed by Live In Care Partners.

Where appropriate, Live In Care Partners may decide not to make further introductions to that carer. Live In Care Partners may also decide not to make further introductions to a carer where there are serious concerns about the carer's conduct, suitability, information provided, safeguarding, compliance with these Terms and Conditions or other matters relevant to the safety or suitability of future introductions. Where appropriate, serious concerns may be referred to the relevant authority.

9. Additional or Replacement Introductions

If a client requests an additional or replacement carer, Live In Care Partners may identify and introduce another potential carer.

We do not guarantee that a suitable carer will be available and do not provide or manage replacement care.

10. Confidentiality

Carers must keep information about clients and their families confidential and must not share personal information unnecessarily.

This responsibility continues after an introduction or placement has ended.

11. Contact with Live In Care Partners

Carers should provide accurate contact information and respond appropriately to communications relating to potential introductions.

Carers should tell us about any significant change that may affect their availability or suitability for future introductions.

12. Ending Future Introductions

A carer may ask Live In Care Partners to stop considering them for future introductions.

Where a carer has already agreed an ongoing placement with a client, any notice or arrangements for ending that placement should be agreed directly with the client in accordance with the terms agreed between the client and carer.

Live In Care Partners may also decide not to make further introductions where concerns arise about a carer's suitability, conduct, information provided or compliance with these Terms and Conditions.

13. Important Information

These Terms and Conditions do not create an employment relationship between the carer and Live In Care Partners.

The carer is responsible for their own tax, National Insurance, any other appropriate insurance and other legal obligations arising from their self-employed status.

Live In Care Partners' role is to vet and introduce potential carers. The ongoing arrangement following an introduction is between the client/family and the carer.

Carers should obtain their own independent advice regarding their employment or self-employed status, tax, insurance and other legal responsibilities.
