Carer Privacy Policy

1. Purpose

Live In Care Partners respects the privacy of all live-in carers who apply to or are introduced through our service.

This policy explains how we collect, use, store and share personal information provided by carers.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect information including:

• Name and contact details
• Identity and right-to-work information
• DBS information
• Qualifications and training
• Employment and care experience
• References
• Skills and areas of experience
• Availability and placement preferences
• Information relevant to matching you with a potential client
• Any other information you choose to provide as part of the application and vetting process

We only collect information that is relevant to assessing your suitability and making appropriate introductions. Some information we collect may constitute special category data under the UK GDPR, such as information concerning health or disability. Where we process special category data, we will only do so where necessary and where the applicable lawful basis under Article 6 and condition for processing under Article 9 of the UK GDPR are in place.

3. How We Use Your Information

We may use your information to:

• Process your application
• Carry out appropriate checks and verification
• Contact referees
• Assess your suitability for introduction
• Match you with potential clients
• Communicate with you about potential introductions
• Maintain appropriate records
• Meet our legal and safeguarding responsibilities

4. Sharing Your Information

We will only share information with a potential client or their representative where it is relevant to an introduction and where there is a lawful basis for sharing it.

We will not share unnecessary personal information.

Information may also be shared where we are legally required to do so or where necessary to protect someone from harm.

Information provided by carers will be treated confidentially and only accessed by people who need it for legitimate purposes.

Carers should also respect the confidentiality and privacy of clients and their families.

6. Keeping Information Secure

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorised access or disclosure.

Electronic and paper records will be stored securely and retained only for as long as necessary.

7. Your Rights

Under UK data protection law, you may have rights relating to the personal information we hold about you, including the right to:

• Request access to your information
• Ask for inaccurate information to be corrected
• Request deletion where applicable
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

Some rights may be subject to legal requirements or other lawful reasons for retaining information.

8. After an Introduction

Live In Care Partners is an introductory agency. Once a client and carer have been introduced, the ongoing care relationship is between the client/family and the carer.

We will continue to handle any information we retain about you in accordance with data protection requirements.
